Covid-19 League Operations Plan

As of August 27, 2020

Hello Rogue Valley Timbers Coaches, Parents, and Players. We are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to be back on the field offering soccer within our community this fall. Obviously, things look and feel a bit different than in the past, but I think we can all agree that different is better than canceled!

The Rogue Valley Timbers staff and board has been working tirelessly since the spring to take the steps necessary to bring soccer back to our community. While we would love to move forward with a "business as usual" approach, we all know that can't and won't be the same time. As such, please see the following league operations plan for the fall season. This plan is fluid and will be amended as guidance and policies from our state and local government along with our sanctioning body, change.

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these policies and giving us the best opportunity to have an enjoyable and uninterrupted fall season.

This plan is a supplement to the Rogue Valley Timbers Club Return to Play plan which is available at www.rvsoccer.com/covid. This supplement applies strictly to the RVT recreational soccer league.

Practice
Training should not be held more than 1 time per week.

Training Duration:
5th - 8th grade 75 minutes
3rd - 4th grade 60 minutes
K- 2nd grade 45 minutes

The following guidelines must be followed in training:

  • No sharing of equipment (other than balls) including but not limited to water bottles, training bibs, gloves etc…
  • Players are required to have hand sanitizer with them and to apply immediately before and immediately after training
  • Masks/Face coverings MUST be worn during any activity where a minimum of 6 feet of separation can't be maintained. In other words, masks must be worn during any scrimmage, live drills, rondos etc. Masks would not have to be worn if you are working on individual ball skills and players can maintain acceptable distance, masks are not required.
    • We recommend a blended approach, so the players have an opportunity to become acclimated to playing with masks on.
  • Coaches must wear masks/face coverings
  • Players' equipment (bags, water bottles, etc) should be placed at least 6 feet apart during training and games.
  • Only 1 family member per player is permitted to remain at training, and they must remain a minimum of 6 feet apart AND are required to have a face covering or mask on
