Concussions Awareness

Over the past several years, there has been a tremendous amount of research regarding concsussions and the long term impact they have on the well being of our athletes. In 2013 the Oregon Legislature adopted SB 721 also known as Jenna's Law. The new law requires that youth athletic organizations take action to educate coaches, parents and players over the age of 12 about concussions. The law also requires coaches and game officials to take further action when a player shows signs or symtoms of a concussion. The Rogue Valley Timbers along with Oregon Youth Soccer have partnered with Providence Medford Medical Center to provide resources and information to help keep our young athletes safe.

Following are a list of concussion resources for our coaches, parents and players. It is vital that we work together to understand the effects of concussions and make sure that we protect our athletes.
